Vince Gilcrease brings innovative leadership as Neel-Schaffer’s new Director of Information Technology

BATON ROUGE, La. (March 25, 2024) – Neel-Schaffer has continued its strategic journey towards upgrading and expanding its IT programs and platforms with the recent hiring of Vince Gilcrease as Director of Information Technology.

Vince brings more than 25 years of experience in leading large-scale IT projects involving Software as a Service, data center designs and migrations, ITSM, and virtualization.

Neel-Schaffer has grown rapidly in the last three years, and now operates 37 offices across nine Southeastern states. This surge demands strategic attention to detail and innovative planning at all levels. It is imperative to stay at the forefront of technology and provide the most advanced tools possible.

“The team in place at Neel-Schaffer has done a good job of serving our internal users,” said Vince. “They have been very responsive with equipment and getting software in the hands of the user very quickly. What I have been tasked with is seeing where we need to go as an organization overall and to have the vision to lead not just from a day-to-day perspective but to develop a long-range plan and then execute that plan.”

Vince is a Louisiana native who has lived in Baton Rouge the last 25 years and calls Neel-Schaffer a “good cultural fit” for him because of the firm’s deep roots in the Southeast. He cited the company’s reputation for providing quality engineering and consulting services as a major selling point – “You always want to be part of a winning team, right?” – and sees the challenges the firm faces as it continues its rapid growth as exciting incentives.

“You need to be in a position to prepare for the future,” said Vince. “You must maintain an operating environment that’s very flexible and adaptable to the needs of the company. My philosophy is to be lite in infrastructure and be a consumer of services, leveraging the abilities of others who are skilled at what they do.”

“We are delighted Vince has joined our growing team,” said Ed Everitt, JD, PE, Neel-Schaffer General Counsel. “His experience in directing and upgrading multiple IT teams in a variety of industries will be invaluable for Neel-Schaffer. He brings technical knowledge and a passion for new ideas that combined with his strategic planning skills and vision will be the perfect complement to our team of IT professionals.”

Vince holds a Bachelor of General Studies from Southeastern Louisiana University and an MBA from Louisiana State University. He has multiple IT certifications from AWS, Microsoft, and VMware.
