New center brings suppliers online at Nissan plant
Neel-Schaffer provided permitting (construction, storm water, and wetlands), civil site design, geotechnical, and inspection services for the 1.5 million-square-foot Nissan logistics center/supplier park that opened in 2014 in Canton, MS.
The overall site cost was over $100 million, and the logistics center is adjacent to the 4.2 million-square-foot Nissan auto manufacturing plant that opened in 2004. The center receives production parts and allows Nissan suppliers to be located closer to the main auto plant.
Work began on the site improvements in August 2013. Neel-Schaffer provided design services for the building pad, the main access road and the adjacent Nissan Parkway turn lanes and signal improvements. The company also provided testing services during the preparation and construction phase of this pad.
