Neel-Schaffer, an ENR Top 200 Design firm, is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a Marketing Proposal Manager to support proposal development and business development efforts across our nine-state footprint. We are flexible on location, and this position can be based in any of our larger offices.
What You’ll Do
As a Marketing Proposal Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our efforts to win new projects and grow our business. You’ll craft compelling proposals, documents, and company communications that showcase our expertise and set us apart. You’ll manage the entire proposal process from start to finish, working closely with our Business Development and Pursuit Managers to understand client needs and create winning strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Craft Winning Proposals: Create, review, proofread, and edit responses to RFPs, RFQs, presentations, and other marketing materials that leave a lasting impression.
- Collaborate & Coordinate: Work closely with technical staff and manage the proposal process from beginning to end, including coordinating all team resources needed to win projects.
- Client Research: Dive deep into research on prospective clients and projects, helping us develop strategies to win new business.
- Design & Develop: Conceptualize and integrate graphics that bring our proposals to life, and maintain our Adobe InDesign templates.
- Events/Conferences: Develop event-specific marketing strategies and manage Neel-Schaffer resources to ensure conference marketing goals are met.
- Database Management: Keep our marketing materials and project database up-to-date and ready to impress.

What You Bring to the Table
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Communications, or a related field.
- Five or more years of proposal, marketing, or business development experience in the AEC industry.
- Demonstrated success leading complex proposals and qualifications from strategy development through final submission. Southeast DOT experience a plus
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to develop persuasive, client-focused proposals and coach others in producing high-quality content.
- Strong understanding of proposal strategy, compliance requirements, and pursuit best practices, with the ability to identify client priorities and develop winning approaches.
- Proven ability to lead proposal teams, facilitate collaboration across technical and marketing staff, and manage multiple high-priority pursuits simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (primarily InDesign) and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Experience with OpenAsset, Microsoft SharePoint, and CRM systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills, with the ability to make sound decisions, solve problems, and perform well under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering polished, accurate, and high-quality client deliverables.
- Self-motivated leader who takes ownership of pursuits, mentors junior marketing staff, and contributes to the continuous improvement of proposal processes and best practices.
- CPSM certification is preferred. Candidates who are not currently certified should have the desire and ability to obtain the Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) credential with company support.
