Position Overview:
We are seeking an energetic and career-oriented individual who will be responsible for performing sampling and testing associated with environmental field work. Specific assignments are received from a superior and, when other than routine, are accompanied by oral or written instructions. Work is performed under the general direction of a professional geologist, engineer, or project-specific manager; however, as experience is gained, greater independence is allowed in carrying out recurring assignments. Key Responsibilities:
- This position supports day-to-day field operations and associated office tasks, with a primary focus on hands-on technical work. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Performing environmental sampling activities, including the collection of air, water, soil, and sediment samples, in accordance with established procedures and safety protocols;
- Installing, operating, inspecting, and performing routine maintenance on remediation and monitoring systems;
- Assisting with field coordination and documenting the activities of subcontractors under the direction of project staff;
- Completing required field paperwork, logs, daily activity reports, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner; and
- Supporting data review, basic data organization, and assisting with report preparation under supervision.
Responsibilities also include environmental compliance assistance for a wide range of commercial, industrial, and governmental clients and other environmental engineering duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have the ability to safely work independently and in teams while consistently following specific instructions and guidelines; effective communication skills, both verbal and written; exceptional diligence; and a clear driving record.
The position requires regular travel with frequent overnight stays. Candidates should be capable of documenting daily work activities in a clear and organized manner.
A minimum high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required. This is an entry-level position (0 to 2 years of experience), and no prior experience is necessary; however, candidates must demonstrate the ability to understand and follow both written and oral instructions.
