Neel-Schaffer, an ENR Top 250 design, planning and construction management firm with offices or projects in nine states, has an opportunity for a CEI Inspector to join our growing engineering firm. This position will cover work in the Florida Panhandle area, from Mobile, AL, to Tallahassee, FL. The ideal candidate can be based in either of those cities or any locations in-between.

This position involves skilled Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) field work. The CEI Inspector will be responsible for performing assignments assisting the Senior Inspector in the performance of their duties and will receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector who reviews work while in progress.

The right candidate will be required to complete the Critical Structures Construction Issues, Self-Study Course, and submit the mandatory Certification of Course Completion form (for structures projects).

Education and/or experience:

• High school graduate or equivalent, plus two years of experience in construction inspection, with one of those years in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection; or
• Engineer Intern with a Civil Engineering degree (requires certificate) and have the ability to earn the required qualifications and certifications within one year, plus demonstrated knowledge in the areas listed below.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level I
• CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
• CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
• IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
• CTQP Final Estimates Level I

Preferred Certifications:

• FDOT Intermediate MOT
• Nuclear Radiation Safety
• IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
• Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors
