JACKSON, Miss. (January 31, 2025) – Neel-Schaffer is pleased to announce the promotion of Nick Ferlito, PE, PTOE, to Executive Vice President and his appointment to the Neel-Schaffer Board of Directors.

Nick has dedicated his entire 29-year engineering career to Neel-Schaffer, serving in various roles including Traffic Engineer, Project Manager, and Baton Rouge Office Engineering Manager, a position he held for nearly 20 years. Most recently, he was named Louisiana Area Manager in January 2024, overseeing operations across Louisiana and the firm’s Baton Rouge, Lafayette, New Orleans, and Mandeville offices.

Joey Hudnall, PE, Neel-Schaffer’s CEO and President, praised Nick’s contributions to Neel-Schaffer, saying, “Nick has been instrumental in the growth and success of our Louisiana operations, bringing them to the next level with a clear and forward-thinking vision. His focus on sustainable growth reflects the mindset we value as a company, and his contributions have truly set the standard. This appointment is well-deserved, and I look forward to the impact he will continue to have in this new role.”

Nick described himself as “honored, humbled, and excited,” by this appointment.

“In 1996, I was just looking for an opportunity to start my engineering career,” he said. “Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought, 29 years later, I would still be with the same company, much less appointed to the Board of Directors and named an Executive Vice President.

“I have always believed in Neel-Schaffer, its culture, and its leadership. I look forward to working with the Board and all Neel-Schaffer employees as we strive for continued success and to drive our company vision forward.”

Nick holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Louisiana State University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the states of Louisiana and Texas and is a certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer.
