ARLINGTON, Texas (April 29, 2021) – Neel-Schaffer, Inc., is pleased to announce that Shashider (Shashi) Velugati, PE, has joined the firm as a Transportation Project Manager.
Based in Neel-Schaffer’s Dallas office, Velugati has more than 16 years of experience in Transportation/Civil Engineering. He gained extensive experience in major roadway design in Texas and New Jersey while working as a private consultant with several firms. Projects he has worked on recently include:
- General Engineering Contract (GEC), TXDOT (Austin District). Project Manager for reconstruction of approximately 11 miles of IH-35 in Austin (CapEx North);
- Project Manager for the reconstruction of SH-71, a TxDOT project to rebuild and widen about 3.5 miles of SH-71 and build two new overpasses;
- Deputy Project Manager for the reconstruction of about five miles of I-10 (segment-3) TxDOT, including replacing two bridges and three signals; and
- Senior Engineer for the reconstruction of Post Oak Boulevard in Uptown Houston.

Velugati is a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas and New Jersey. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Kakathiya University in India and a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
