Said El Said joins Neel-Schaffer as Transportation Systems Manager in Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 8, 2022) – Neel-Schaffer, Inc., is pleased to announce that Said El Said, PE, PhD, has joined the firm and will serve as Transportation Systems Manager based in the firm’s Nashville office.

El Said recently received a Philosophy Doctorate in Transportation Engineering from Vanderbilt University and joins Neel-Schaffer following an 18-year career with the Tennessee Department of Transportation.

Transportation Systems Manager is a new position for Neel-Schaffer, created to better serve clients as transportation technology rapidly evolves and now includes such applications as connected vehicles, unmanned aerial systems (drones), and smart infrastructure. Neel-Schaffer’s Transportation Systems program will include services such as planning, design contracting, deployment inspection and testing, monitoring and tracking, asset management, and technical support.

El Said is a registered Professional Engineer in Tennessee and a 2019 graduate of the TDOT Executive Leadership Academy. He earned a Civil Engineering Technology Diploma from Benha Faculty of Engineering in Egypt and holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Memphis, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee, and a Doctorate in Transportation Philosophy from Vanderbilt University.
