JACKSON, Miss. (December 11, 2015) — Neel-Schaffer, Inc., is pleased to announce that Tom Henderson, PE, CM, is now a Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives.
Henderson, Neel-Schaffer’s aviation discipline leader, earned the CM designation after passing a rigorous four-hour exam that covered a wide variety of airport topics. The certification will help Henderson and Neel-Schaffer provide better planning, engineering, and construction services for our many airport clients across Mississippi and the Southeast.
“It helps me better understand and empathize with what our clients experience in all aspects of their jobs,” said Henderson. “There is a lot more that goes into managing an airport than the time they spend with us, monitoring our construction projects or going over our designs. This gives me a much greater appreciation of everything an airport manager must do to make sure their airport runs smoothly.”
The AAAE CM exam covered four modules that are essential to the operation of all airports: Finance and Administration; Planning, Construction and Environmental; Airport Operations, Security and Maintenance; and Communications and Community Relations.
Henderson is beginning his 21st year with Neel-Schaffer, and his 18th dedicated to providing engineering services to aviation clients across the Southeast. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Mississippi State University.
