Neel-Schaffer has an opening for a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join our growing engineering firm. This position can be based in our Huntsville or Birmingham (AL) offices.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, looking for career growth and have solid communication and problem-solving skills in a collaborative team environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience in water modeling and treatment, along with wastewater treatment. Additionally, the Water/Wastewater Project Engineer will have experience designing water mains, gravity sewer systems, booster stations, and sewer lift stations.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Alabama or the ability to obtain an Alabama PE license within 6 to 12 months, preferred.
- 6+ years of experience with technical work / project management in Water/Wastewater.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to plan and conceptualize.
- The ability to produce technical reports and memorandums that are clear, concise, and accurate.
- The ability to communicate effectively during day-to-day interactions with colleagues and clients.
- Experience with hydraulic computer models such as EPANET, Bentley WaterCAD or Autodesk InfoWater, preferred.
- Experience with Microstation (and/or GEOPAK/OpenRoads), AutoCAD (and/or Civil 3D), and ArcGIS is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
