Neel-Schaffer has an opportunity for a Civil Project Engineer to join our growing engineering firm. This position will be based in one of our three offices in the Golden Triangle area of northeast Mississippi – West Point, Starkville, or Columbus. The successful candidate will have 5-plus years of experience in water/wastewater, site civil, or general municipal engineering. You will be a part of an Engineering Team and will assist other teams as project and client demands dictate.
Neel-Schaffer currently serves as the City Engineer for several municipalities throughout the Golden Triangle area. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing discipline/market sector! It’s also a challenging opportunity to grow and stretch the right candidate’s own capabilities and civil engineering design knowledge/experience. We need someone who enjoys interacting with public officials and truly making a difference in the communities in which we live and work!
You may be working on the design of an important project, reviewing a proposed municipal or water/wastewater project, or meeting with clients.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Passed FE Exam or PE Exam.
- 5-plus years of experience with Municipal Engineering design preferred; including but not limited to, civil-site design, municipal, or water/wastewater design.
- Experience with design software preferred – AutoCAD (and/or Civil 3D), and ArcGIS is advantageous.
- Strong verbal communication and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Valid driver’s license.
