Neel-Schaffer seeks responses from qualified applicants for the position of CEI Louisiana State Lead to join our Louisiana team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience leading and managing highway construction-related engineering and inspection projects. This position will be based in our Baton Rouge (LA) Office or surrounding areas.

Additionally, This Role Will Be Responsible For

  • Management and administration of civil, highway and structures projects including leading internal teams of project engineers, inspectors, and administrative staff throughout the state.
  • Participation in scoping, utility conflicts, constructability and biddability.
  • Visitation of construction and project sites to monitor project progress and adherence to plans and specifications.
  • Leadership and management of project inspection team(s) to ensure training and equipment needs are met.
  • Developing and maintaining an area CEI Services team through recruiting, selecting, managing, and training.
  • Engaging with clients, conducting client site visits, and supporting business development activities.
  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities within the state.
  • Leading and/or managing all elements of projects to ensure contract compliance for roadway and bridge construction projects.
  • Exhibiting knowledge of on-call service contracts as well as mining contracts for task orders.
  • Tracking and updating relevant financial information including cost projections for projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in Louisiana or the ability to obtain Louisiana PE licensing within 6 months.
  • 10+ years experience managing roadway construction related projects.
  • Experience and familiarity working with the LADOT standards, SOPs, etc., required.
  • Project management and construction experience is required.
  • Progressive experience leading and managing construction staff.
  • High integrity and ethics in all aspects of engaging with clients, subconsultants, internal teams and peers.
  • Strong verbal communication and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Statewide travel will be required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
