8,000-seat amphitheater coming soon to Brandon, MS

DSC07060-with-CaptiionNeel-Schaffer is honored to be associated with the Brandon Amphitheater at The Quarry, a new 8,000-seat amphitheater coming soon to the Jackson suburb of Brandon, MS. Neel-Schaffer is providing civil site and structural design services for this project. Site work has begun, and construction is expected to start in September 2016, with a tentative opening day of April 1, 2018.

The Quarry will be modeled after other successful amphitheaters around the South, including the 7,500-seat Tuscaloosa (AL) Amphitheater that Neel-Schaffer engineers designed.

At a press conference on August 16, 2016, Brandon Mayor Butch Lee said the goal is to make the Brandon Amphitheater at The Quarry a “jewel for Central Mississippi, the heart of Brandon.”

Red Mountain Entertainment, which manages the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater, will help run The Quarry. During the press conference, Red Mountain President Gary Weinberger said that The Quarry “will be transformational for Brandon and for Central Mississippi.”
