Sonny Smoak, PE
Sonny rejoined Neel-Schaffer in 2008 and serves as the Engineer Manager of the firm’s Houston (TX) office.
After working for Neel-Schaffer from 1999-2004, Sonny worked for URS in Atlanta before returning to Neel-Schaffer in the Baton Rouge (LA) office. In 2009, he was promoted to Engineer Manager in the Houston office. In 2016, he was named a Vice President in the firm.
In addition to his management responsibilities, Sonny has served as a project manager for numerous public and private transportation and environmental projects.
The Houston-area projects he has worked on include disaster recovery in Galveston following Hurricane Ike, Wilson Road Widening, Fallbrook ‘A’ Road Improvements, and Mueschke Road Improvements in Harris County, and the Lockwood Lift Station Improvements and the Texas Avenue Lift Station Upgrade for the City of Houston.
