Senior Structural Engineer
Ken joined Neel-Schaffer in 1985 and has more than 40 years of experience, with a broad background in the structural analysis and design of buildings, highway bridges, industrial facilities, municipal wastewater treatment facilities, wharf facilities, and pipelines. Ken is a certified bridge inspector, including underwater structures, and since 2011 he has been an integral part of the firm’s Fracture Critical/Complex Bridge Inspections and Load Rating team.
Based in the firm’s Jackson (MS) office, Ken holds PE registrations in Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, and Georgia.
He is responsible for the structural and hydraulic design of bridges and hydraulic structures, including channels, weirs, grade control structures and pump stations. He has significant experience with the planning and design of water resources projects for the Corps of Engineers and Natural Resources Conservation Service.
Ken is experienced in the use of HEC-2. He also has performed hydrologic (HEC-1) and hydraulic (HEC-2) design for major flood control projects in Slidell, LA, and along the Canal II in Arkansas for the Vicksburg District COE.
