After working for Neel-Schaffer from 2011-14 primarily as a biologist, Cori rejoined the firm in 2016 as an Environmental Scientist, taking on project management duties.
Based in the firm’s Biloxi (MS) office, Cori is responsible for compiling and completing NEPA review for federal and state-funded projects, providing clients with suggestions for environmental compliance related to wetlands and other coastal habitats, as well as threatened and endangered species.
She is responsible for environmental permitting, reporting, and correspondence with federal and state agencies, and she assists Neel-Schaffer project teams by obtaining environmental clearance and recommending project design alternatives based on environmental concerns. She oversees field personnel and technicians when working in and around environmentally sensitive areas.
Ms. Gavin performs Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments as well as related soil and groundwater sampling and reporting.
Cori has been intimately involved with wetland and stream restoration proposals, design, monitoring protocols, and project implementation for clients throughout Mississippi. She performs GIS-based field reconnaissance for wetlands and stream assessments, threatened and endangered species surveys, habitat assessments, and land use mapping for regional areas along the Gulf Coast.
