Stark Aerospace Access Road and Gates

COLUMBUS, MS

Building roads to new industries

The project was new construction of an approximately 3,200 foot long 50 foot wide heavy duty concrete roadway at Golden Triangle Regional Airport for airfield access to the newly constructed Stark Aerospace facility.  The project included the installation of a radio controlled 150 foot clear opening box frame roller gate with hydraulic operators and security fencing modifications.  In addition, airfield signage was added, airfield lighting was relocated/modified for in pavement lights, and an existing 6” diameter water line crossing the proposed roadway alignment was removed and replaced in a casing.  Construction spanned both Airside and Landside sectors at the airport, and utilized strict conformance with Safety and Phasing Plans in association with FAA Control Tower Coordination to minimize operational impact to the airport.
