Neel-Schaffer helps Gulf Coast’s largest airport continue to grow

Neel-Schaffer provided engineering design, construction specifications, contract administration, and construction oversight services for a new jet bridge at the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport in Gulfport, MS.

Construction cost for the project to install the new three-section, mechanical jet bridge was $793,807. The seven-month project was completed in April 2017.

During the construction of the new jet bridge, which was installed at a previously unused gate of the Gulf Coast’s largest airport, Neel-Schaffer re-configured the envelope spaces for the entire terminal apron. This new configuration was based on GBRAA’s long-term aviation plans and was a cooperative effort of GBRAA, the airlines at GBIA and Neel-Schaffer. This project had no change orders and was completed on time and on budget.

JBT Airport Services manufactured and installed the new jet bridge, with Neel-Schaffer providing construction observation services.
