On May 1, Neel-Schaffer Inc., one of the fastest growing engineering firms in the South, opened the doors to its new office in Mobile, Alabama. The new Alabama office will assist the Birmingham and Montgomery offices, while serving both the Mobile and Baldwin areas.

Heading up the new office, Neel-Schaffer has hired Alabama native, Gary Tillman, P.E. as Assistant Engineer Manager.  With almost 20 years of experience under his belt, Tillman brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the new office.

Having been a resident of Mobile for many years now, Tillman is an engrained member of the local community. Along with his experience, this community involvement makes him a valuable asset for Neel-Schaffer. With offices throughout the South, Neel-Schaffer prides itself on community participation and furthering the contributions it makes within the communities its employees live and work.

“With Tillman on board and the new office online, we are now able to extend the services and resources we provide, not just in Mobile and the surrounding areas, but also in the state of Alabama, said Chris Sellers, Engineer Manager of the Neel-Schaffer Alabama offices.  “This is the fruition of a goal that has been years in the making.”

The Mobile office will be able to offer all of Neel-Schaffer’s current range of services, while specializing in municipal engineering, transportation design, and traffic engineering. 

“This falls in line with our strategic plan - to grow not only geographically but also by diversifying our disciplines in order to better serve our clients.” said Joey Hudnall, Neel-Schaffer COO.  “We started looking into opening a Mobile office not only because of its geographic location, but also the opportunities the city has to offer our firm and our firm has to offer the city.
