Christopher D. Jones, P.E., BCEE (Environmental Department, Madison Office) was recently installed as Regional Director during the June 2010 Mississippi Engineering Society (MES) Summer Meeting in Biloxi, Mississippi.  In this position, Chris will serve as Mississippi’s representative to the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) House of Delegates (HoD).

The NSPE HoD serves as the “congress” of the Engineering profession for the United States and territories.  This body is responsible for adopting the vision, mission, and goals of NSPE, establishing the strategic plan, Code of Ethics, and professional policies under which NSPE operates.  In addition, the HoD has sole responsibility for electing the NSPE officers and Board of Directors, as well as amending the NSPE Bylaws. 

Chris has been an active member of MES since 1990, and has served on the MES Board of Directors for the last 10 years.  In addition to his Jackson Chapter and State Society offices, he has spent the last two years serving on the national Mentoring Task Force and Student Chapter Development Task Force.
