Jackson, Miss. (March 4, 2010) - Most of us don’t think much about the field of Energy, nor do many of us know exactly what that field of work entails. However, to Neel-Schaffer’s recent hire, Rob Shepard, the field of energy service is not only exciting, but it has sent him around the world and is something he has dedicated his career to.
Rob Shepard joined Neel-Schaffer, Inc. as a Senior Project Manager of energy services. Shepard has over 22 years of experience in the energy business. Prior to joining the Neel- Schaffer team, he was the owner and president of The Energy Group, where he supported his clients in the asset management of their power generation and cogeneration facilities.
Shepard has worked as a consultant with some of the nation’s largest facilities, including Ameren, Morgan Stanley, Arizona Public Service, Nevada Power, TXU Energy and Associated Electric Power Cooperative. Prior to his work as a consultant, Shepard was employed for twelve years with Entergy and four years with Black and Veatch.
Managing planned maintenance outages for clients, his responsibilities have gone far beyond maintenance and into assessment of safety procedures, plant performance, processes, and asset management.
Providing project management, project oversight, and direction to engineering, permitting, procurement, construction, and demolition, Shepard’s talents also extend to expert witnessing on legal issues regarding the operation and maintenance of a coal-fired and cogeneration facilities.

Shepard has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Mississippi State University. Shepard is currently headquartered out of the Ridgeland, Miss., office of Neel-Schaffer.
