Nathan Husman one of Mississippi’s Top 40 Under 40

(Jackson, Miss., - Dec. 18, 2009) Recently, Neel-Schaffer Inc., was contacted by the Mississippi Business Journal regarding an award the Journal was bestowing.  However, the award was not intended for Neel-Schaffer, as is typically the case. But for one of the company’s very special employees, Nathan Husman who was recognized by the Mississippi Business Journal as its Top 40 under 40.

Husman, who has been with Neel-Schaffer for over four years, is an Engineer Manager over Jackson, Mississippi’s Environmental Department. His environmental group plans, designs, and provides construction oversight for water and wastewater infrastructure projects primarily for municipal governments and utility authorities. These projects include highly sophisticated and technically challenging water and wastewater treatment plants. Recent projects include a 75 million gallon per day water treatment plant for the city of Jackson, Mississippi, and several wastewater treatment plants for utility authorities along the Mississippi Gulf Coast as part of restoration and renewal from Hurricane Katrina.

However, this position is not the only one Husman holds. He is also an officer in the United States Naval Reserve. For over a year now, Husman has been deployed in Iraq and just recently returned in time to spend Christmas with his family.

The Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 names and profiles the best and brightest business, industry and community leaders in the state under the age of 40. An increasingly competitive program, Top 40 Under 40 is one of Mississippi Business Journal’s most anticipated special programs every year.
